Following the demolition of multiple schools in the West Bank, a Tunisian NGO advocating for children’s right to education launched an open call for a mobile, modular school design that could be relocated or reassembled as needed. The demonstration site, Khan al Ahmar, had no electricity, water, or formal educational facilities, with existing structures built from corrugated panels, wooden pallets, fabric, tanks, and wheels. The program required four classrooms, multipurpose rooms, an office, sanitation, a medical room, a playground, and rest areas within a sloped 34 × 55 m site. Using the site as a case scenario, we designed an illustrated instruction manual in a foldable pamphlet format, adaptable to any language for remote contexts. The manual outlined a modular structural system using fold-plate techniques and reusable materials, transportable in four truckloads. It included material quantities, low-cost soil leveling methods, phased construction steps, and furniture layouts—allowing communities with no prior construction experience to assemble the school.
