Chennai, India
This project positions Re-evolution as a conscious architectural response to break the physical, social, and psychological barriers that marginalize the elderly and physically handicapped. Taking Chennai’s Elliot’s Beach as a case, the design intervenes in one of the city’s most vibrant public congregation spaces, which paradoxically excludes those with accessibility challenges. The proposal restructures access routes, integrates interactive social pockets, and introduces a bridging structure that becomes both a physical pathway and a symbolic horizon. By reshaping movement, interaction, and perception simultaneously, the design reframes the beach as an inclusive civic platform, triggering Re-evolution toward equality and shared urban experience.
