The proposed Montessori in Teynampet, Chennai, redefines early education by integrating sustainability with pedagogy. On a 9,800 sqm passive site, the design leverages existing tree cover to create shaded microclimates. Programmatic zoning organizes classrooms, art and music studios, dining, and administration around outdoor activity courts. Natural ventilation, daylighting, and permeable surfaces reduce energy demand while fostering sensory connection to context. The architecture breaks urban confinement, enabling children to transition from isolated shells to an active, nature-linked learning environment.
