ZOUP Scoop
BRIEF

Following the adoption of the Strategic Land Use Plan (SLUP), the City of St. Louis is preparing a comprehensive zoning code upgrade. As part of this effort, we created ZOUP Scoop, a public engagement newsletter researched and designed to build capacity and awareness around zoning. The newsletter explains what zoning is, its history in St. Louis, why an upgrade matters, and how it affects urban form. Combining text, data-driven cartographies, images, and interactive elements such as games, ZOUP Scoop was crafted for different age groups and deployed in public engagement events. This advocacy artifact served as an accessible, educational tool to demystify zoning and foster inclusive participation in shaping the city’s future codes.
